Patient Support Officer

About the role
The Patient Support Officer is a physically active, task-orientated role which plays a major part of our day-to-day healthcare delivery.
- Perform routine & periodic cleaning with a focus on patients and people. Duties may include cleaning tasks such as cleaning high and low, including, walls, windows, ceiling, furniture and fittings and sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and buffing/scrubbing, etc.
- Provide patient transportation and support our clinical staff using patient handling techniques, transporting patients under clinical direction using bed, trolley or wheelchair.
- Deliver waste and linen services to keep our hospital clean & safe, including the removal of general/clinical and recyclable waste and soiled linen.
- Transport medical and other equipment throughout the facility
What are we looking for?
Your availability is crucial - our shifts span 24 hours, 7 days per week including nights, weekends, and public and school holidays. We are looking for someone who:
- Has an ability to perform physical tasks and be on your feet for the entire shift
- Can work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment.
- Accurately follows relevant procedures and instructions
- Is customer-focussed, communicates with respect and compassion
