Are you passionate about building compliance, community safety, and delivering exceptional service?

Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Officer - Building to support our Building Control Unit.

**In this dynamic role, you will**:

- Assist in the delivery of statutory building control services
- Support the Municipal Building Surveyor in assessing permits and approvals
- Conduct inspections of new and existing buildings
- Oversee the Council’s swimming pool register
- Provide high-quality customer service to residents and stakeholders

**Key responsibilities**
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with building regulations
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and manage documentation efficiently
- Use a range of technologies including Microsoft Office, GIS, and Greenlight

**What you need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualification (or currently studying) in Building Surveying or Construction
- Understanding of the Building Act, Regulations, and Australian Standards
- Strong communication and time management skills
- A valid Victorian driver’s license
- Registration with the Victorian Building Authority (desirable)
