**About us**

Crescent Respite (registered NDIS provider) is set to revolutionize disability support, equipping people with the tools to recover, rejuvenate, recalibrate, and rediscover themselves.

We are looking for experienced Male Support Workers who have experience of working with people with disabilities, challenging behaviors' and high care clients. You will provide varied supports from 1:1 assistance in daily living skills to group outings and activities.

**Please note, due to the client group, we are only seeking male applicants for this position. **Crescent Respite considers that the requirement of being male falls under an exception under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

**What are we looking for?**
- Minimum 1+ year experience with clients who have behaviors' of concern
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and advocate for the client in situations of a complex or critical nature
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication, including an understanding of the importance to maintain current and accurate progress notes
- Committed to delivering high quality outcomes for clients and have an assertive nature
- Previously worked within the scope of physical restraint and able to handle complex situations
- Demonstrated capacity to work flexibly, possess the ability to manage competing demands, and able to effectively set boundaries and limits where required
- An extensive background working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people will be highly regarded.

**Mandatory requirements -**
- Certificate IV or above in Disability Support or similar
- Victorian Driver’s License
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 6 - 12 months
- First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Evidence of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations
- Working with Children’s Check
- Must be available to work 20+ hours per week and able to work a rotating roster including sleepover shifts.
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster including day shifts, weekends and sleepover shifts
