**Job Description**:
New opportunity for an experienced **National Operations Manager **to join our Industrials function to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

As **National Operations Manager **you will be responsible for the leadership, safety, profitability and growth of a diverse portfolio of industrial customers and sites, spanning across warehousing & transportation. The portfolio will initially include managing contracts for Glass & Paper.

**As the National Operations Manager, you will**:

- Develop and deliver a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the operation, with demonstrated year on year improvements in all areas.
- Identify and deliver optimised cost and service options for the customers within the region, focusing on diligent cost management and optimal delivery of value-added services.
- Listen to customers and gain an understanding of the wider needs and their views on service quality.
- Build, retain and develop high performing teams through the delivery of an effective people and organisation strategy that includes effective employee engagement, mentoring, coaching and succession planning.
- Support, in conjunction with Business Development, the pursuit of organic and developmental growth for the Industrials sector in the local market area.

**Qualifications**:
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- 10 + years’ logistics/transport experience managing diverse teams across multiple retail/route logistics environments.
- Experience managing and integrating large complex transport operations across multiple sites/modes.
- Experience in driving operational performance and effective people leadership.
- Strong customer engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and drive successful outcomes.
- Experience in full P&L management.
- Experience across health, safety, and compliance.
- Knowledge across Industrial Logistics / Dangerous Goods sector would be a distinct advantage.
- Able to travel interstate on a fortnightly basis.
