**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP-001), HACCP, and established process parameters to guarantee the production of traceable products.
- Ensure compliance withtracebility and mass balance of Imported Pig Meat requirements as outlined in the Imported Pig Meat Manual (IMP001).
- Take the lead in coordinating regulatory and third-party audit trace activities.
- Execute both process and product traceability during audits.
- Conduct audits within the manufacturing area to confirm that all trolleys, stainless steel tubs, and product receptacles are bar-coded or tagged with an ID. These barcodes and IDs are managed through the RF system.
- Ensure the product moves through the manufacturing process, each item is scanned, and its location is updated within the RF system.
- Verify that product flows are accurately entered into the system. All raw materials must be received at a designated receiving dock, based on the type of raw material. Subsequently, each item’s container is assigned an SSCC featuring a Non-Significant Identifier (NSI) barcode, with receipt details entered into the Paperless system, which automatically replicates this information in AS400.
- Both meat and non-meat items receive an SSCC with the NSI at the point of receipt.
- Annually test the traceability system from raw materials to finished products and back, including a mass balance test.
- For any claims made regarding the provenance, assured, or identity-preserved status of a product—such as SSF pork, RSPCA products, and HGPF Beef—conduct mass balance traceability every six months, with records retained for inspection. - Participate in internal audits as per the schedule and ensure that mock recalls and trace exercises are completed on time, aligning with internal schedules or customer specifications.
- Identify and report any concerns arising from trace exercises, raising non-conformances to facilitate resolution and action. - Conduct relevant audits related to glass, brittle plastic, and GMP, along with bucket walks, to ensure the effective operation of the quality and food safety management systems when necessary.
- Participate in root cause analysis during investigations of external and internal feedback or complaints, tracing back products to the day of receipt or the supplier—such as in cases of bone complaints. - Provide support as directed by the Quality Manager. - Ensure that all traceability records are accurately documented by floor staff, verified, and properly maintained. - Regularly scan and file all traceability papers as soft copies.
- Promptly notify the specific section Supervisor or relevant Factory Manager about any breaches in traceability records, with copies sent to the QA Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager. If breaches are repetitive within a section, a Corrective Action Request (CAR) must be issued to the Section Supervisor.
- Ensure effective traceability of product groups, by conducting annual tests that trace products from finished goods to raw materials and assess quantity/mass balance.
- Be prepared to carry out traceability exercises if requested by the auditor during an audit.
- Ensure all procedures for identification and traceability will be strictly followed.
- Any products lacking traceability from other sections must be identified and reported to Quality Assurance.
- Work with all staff and supervisors to diligently record daily traceability paperwork, ensuring comprehensive detail capture. Clear and professional communication with various stakeholders, including production staff, managers, suppliers, customers, regulators, and auditors, is crucial.
- Writing and presenting trace reports and summaries that include all necessary documents and records, ensuring their accuracy, conciseness, and compliance.
- Daily reconciliation reports for imported containers should be completed.
- Daily Checks report, including necessary paperwork and a walkthrough to check labeling, condensation, and cleanliness, is required.
- Investigate customer complaints received from Quality, including traceability assessments where necessary.
- Complete monthly internal mass recall and mass balance exercises, alongside all customer requirements.
