Melbourne- Ancillary Areas- PermanentOur client is a prominent global financial services firm with business lines in Australia primarily across **asset management** and **securities services.** This is a great opportunity to work as part of a small team, in a prominent **Operational Risk Manager** position. The ideal applicant will have strong operational risk experience within financial services, ideally with prior experience with an **asset manager, custody, asset owner or super fund.**

**Responsibilities would include**:

- Overseeing operational risks across a range of core business-lines products including Global Custody, Fund Services, Agency Lending and Collateral Management
- Be the point of expertise for operational risk, advising business partners and other functional groups, on emerging and key risk trends, fiduciary issues, product strategy, deals, risk appetite and tolerance.
- To conduct regular targeted risk assessments and significant event reviews on the asset services businesses in APAC identifying key risks and mitigation measures; participate/drive key firm wide risk initiatives
- In crisis scenarios, independently assess business processes, highlight risk scenarios / recommend solutions and proactively manage risks resulting from existing or potential market events
- Conduct reviews on new business initiatives, new service/product operational capabilities and new proposals (or changes) to location strategy and liaise with regulators in respect of Operational Risk matters.
- Provide operational risk management oversight and independent challenge of significant new deals, changes or exceptions to standard legal terms and non-standard arrangements and/or transactions.

This is an exceptional **Operational Risk Manager** opportunity working as part of a small team, based in Melbourne. This role will **likely be hired at AVP or VP level**, with salary variable depending on prior experience.
