**The Role**
This is a unique opportunity to work in the important and exciting strategic Defence field of guided weapons.

You will work within the Navy Missiles Maintenance facility alongside the mechanical and technical teams.

This important role is a chance to secure a government position with comfortable, safe working conditions and the opportunity to be part of a small maintenance team.

You will work under limited direction on activities that include:

- Perform non-technical maintenance activities, including the operation of plant and machinery within the Defence Establishment Orchard Hills Navy Missile Maintenance facilities.
- Take responsibility for providing a local contractor liaison, coordination of contractor works and escort contractors throughout the Navy Missile Maintenance facility at DEOH to ensure the facilities meet regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the receiving and packing of stores and equipment.
- Compile and maintain facilities plant and machinery routine testing records and reports to meet EO safety requirements.

As part of this maintenance team you will be part of the Explosive Ordnance Maintenance Directorate (EOMD).

This directorate plays a vital role in delivering the latest guided weapons for the Australian Defence Force.

The work you do each day will directly support Defence’s commitment to rapidly increasing the maintenance and manufacture of guided weapons in Australia.

You will be part of a team that is crucial to delivering the latest guided weapons for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

**About our Team**
The Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) acquires and sustains a broad range of explosive ordnance capabilities for the Australian Defence Force.

EMB currently manages 38 acquisition projects and sustains over 1000 munition types (including 35 types of complex guided weapons).

EMB also manages two explosive ordnance manufacturing facilities.

The Explosive Ordnance Maintenance Directorate (EOMD) is part of EMB.

It manages the maintenance and sustainment of missiles used by Defence.

The Navy Missile Maintenance team is important to this role.

It is responsible for ongoing intermediate maintenance of guided weapons in line with detailed regulations.

The work will be carried out under the Explosive Ordnance Technical Regulatory Authority.
- Support Defence to deliver the latest guided weapons by bringing your expertise and strong work ethic to a team that maintains and certifies missiles.
- Achieve results by managing work projects within the facility to meet required regulations in a dynamic, busy and exciting work environment.
- Support the important work of the maintenance team by building effective relationships, listening to other team members to understand their needs, collaborating, and participating in group activities.
