The role of Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO)is a key and integral member of the Executive reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The CPCO will lead the building and execution of people and culture plans and strategies as well as lead a significant team through mentoring, coaching and developing capability. Developing relationships across the organisation will be crucial in the review and implementation of deliverables contained within the strategic and annual plan, to foster an inclusive culture which embraces difference, and to influence and create change to provide high levels of accessibility for the organisation’s services.
To be successful in this role, the appointed CPCO will be a seasoned HR leader with a track record of success in developing and implementing HR strategies, plans services and solutions. Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of P&C professionals combined with broad and deep exposure to contemporary workplace relations strategies and remuneration practices. The role will build and develop the organisations capability through the design, development and delivery of learning and organisational development initiatives and set up and managing talent management and succession planning processes.
Crucially, the CPCO will have experience in the design and delivery of culture development initiatives that enhance employee engagement and critical capabilities in areas such as organisational design, restructuring and change management.
The role will also liaise with and work effectively with a range of internal stakeholders including board members and the executive management team displaying high level negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills. Therefore, experience with supporting board and operational board sub committees is ideal and developed C Suite level business and financial acumen that includes comfort with data and metrics to impact strategy and decision making.
