**About the role**:
The Data Lead is a senior role within the Technology team, overseeing all data-related activities across a large-scale platform migration program.
This role ensures the accurate and complete migration of customer, billing, and site data while driving data quality, consistency, and best practices across the lifecycle.
It plays a critical part in delivering fit-for-purpose data solutions that support Origin’s strategic goals during the energy transition.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Lead and oversee all data-related aspects of a major technology and platform migration, ensuring accurate and complete migration of customer, billing and site data.
- Ensure data strategy and execution align with broader business objectives across technology transformation and platform migration.
- Develop and implement robust data migration frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout all phases of the program.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional delivery teams, vendors, and technical SMEs to define data requirements and ensure successful data integration.
- Translate complex data requirements into practical solutions, leveraging advanced SQL capabilities and understanding of CRM data platforms.
- Champion best practices in data quality, validation, governance, and documentation.
- Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to data readiness, quality, and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement across data processes and tooling, promoting automation and standardisation where appropriate.
- Ensure effective stakeholder communication, presenting data insights and progress in a clear, non-technical manner.
- Contribute to the broader transformation governance by ensuring data-related initiatives meet compliance, privacy, and regulatory standards.
**What will you bring?**
- 10+ years' experience in senior data roles within **complex transformation programs**:
- Proven success in **large-scale CRM** and **data migrations**, especially **customer**, **billing**, and **site data**:
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation
- Experience with Salesforce and Kraken data structures, including mapping and reconciliation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address complex data issues in Agile environments
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and risk mitigation capabilities
- Knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, and compliance in migration projects
