PR and Communications Manager

My client is a leading property and real estate developer, who work across residential, commercial and hospitality holdings. They are looking to expand their comms team and as such they are looking for a PR & Communications Manager.

The PR and Communications Manager role is autonomous reporting to the Marketing Manager and working alongside external communications consultants and agencies. Your prime responsibility will be to develop and implement effective PR and communications strategies across the various divisions of the business and the territories they operate in - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Indonesia and China.

To be successful you will be responsible for identifying relevant PR opportunities and transform them into actionable and measurable PR activities.

You will collaborate with your external media contacts to get maximum coverage for my client and its entities by positioning us as the leader in mixed-use development. You will be responsible for building their reputation and credentials through both mass and highly targeted and consistent public relations efforts.

You will be a key member of the marketing team and understand overall strategies and activities in order to define and scope strategies that align to these objectives. You will work especially closely with the events team.

You will handle media and press relations and allocate budget for all PR related activities.

You will write and review press briefings and press releases. You will be required to leverage market intelligence and form meaningful relationships with influencers and property organisations and associations to drive awareness and positioning. A key part of this role is to work closely with the leaders of the business and ensure they are receiving appropriate accreditation; as well as provide support with speech writing and media briefings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify main target groups and audiences and determine the best way to communicate to them.
- Write interesting and effective press releases, prepare information for media kits and events.
- Develop and maintain their corporate image and identity via mainstream press, online and social media/influencers.
- Manage attendees for special events introducing new projects, or other activities in order to gain public attention through the media and social.
- Draft speeches for company executives and arrange interviews and other forms speaking opportunities for them.
- Work with local and global PR and social agencies (across Australia, Indonesia, China and US), including negotiating contracts, managing and communicating results and optimal output across relevant channels
- Align advertising and promotion programs with public relations efforts.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local and national media representatives.
- Formulate policies and procedures related to public information programs, working with public relations executives, social media use and crisis plans.
- Maintain company PR archives.
- Observe and report on social, economic and political trends that might affect business or employers.
