**About the Role**:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality support to clients with intellectual disabilities and autism. The role involves assisting clients in achieving their personal goals, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Personal Care**: Assist with daily living tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation, as required.
- **Community Access**: Support clients in participating in community activities, social outings, and recreational events to promote inclusion and engagement.
- **Behavioral Support**: Implement behavior support strategies and manage challenging behaviors in line with individual behavior support plans.
- **Skill Development**: Encourage and support clients in developing life skills such as communication, self-care, and social interaction.
- **Transport Assistance**: Provide safe and reliable transportation to appointments, activities, and outings.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and activities in line with NDIS requirements and organizational policies.
- **Collaborative Care**: Work closely with families, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic support tailored to individual needs.
- **Health & Safety**: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of clients at all times, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

**Requirements**:

- **Qualifications**: Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Individual Support, or related field
- **Experience**: Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism is highly desirable.
- **Knowledge**: Understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disabilities, including behavior management strategies.
- **Skills**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors calmly.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- **Certifications**:

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (if transport is required).

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Evening shift

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person
