**About us**

**The Division**
The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.?
**About the team**
The Aboriginal Engagement team are experts in providing cultural leadership to connect people and build relationships between Aboriginal* stakeholders, communities and Transport to deliver on our strategic objectives for transforming First Nations people’s aspirations and priorities into reality.
Our team collaborates, inspires and empowers the people of Transport to develop and deliver innovative strategies, plans and services that deliver meaningful engagement activity and outcomes to Aboriginal customers and that improves access to services, programs and grows NSW’s First Economy.
Transport actively uses its procurement power and implements the NSW Governments Aboriginal Procurement Policy through infrastructure and goods and services contacts to support employment opportunities for Aboriginal businesses and Aboriginal people, creating jobs and fostering skills development amongst Aboriginal communities.
With a strong foundation in identity, community and Country, our team helps to transform the lives of the people we serve by giving a strong Aboriginal voice which puts customers at the centre and delivers outcomes for the greater good to enable Aboriginal people and communities to value and trust Transport for NSW.

**The opportunity**
We have an exciting ongoing full-time opportunity for Aboriginal Community & Heritage Partner to be part of Transport’s Aboriginal Engagement team.
In this role you will provide expert advice and support to project teams, contractors and Aboriginal stakeholders on matters relating to Aboriginal stakeholder engagement, management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and land matters on infrastructure and network projects to ensure Aboriginal cultural heritage guidelines, policies and practices are implemented to meet legislative, business and social responsibilities and ensure land matters are addressed early.
**What you will be involved in**
Influencing, leading, advising and actively contributing to multidisciplinary project teams (including external contractors and environmental specialists) in the early identification and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and land tenure risks and issues to facilitate the achievement of cultural heritage best practice of risk minimization on relevant infrastructure projects.
Providing high level advice and solutions for project teams, environmental specialists and contractors regarding TfNSW projects that have the potential to become politically sensitive issues and impact on cultural heritage through collaborative consultation in partnership with Aboriginal stakeholders.
Undertaking site inspections and Aboriginal cultural heritage management plan audits in accordance with TfNSW policies and procedures to assist and support project managers, staff and contractors improve performance.
Providing effective customer service by acting as a point of contact for Aboriginal stakeholders and respond accurately and promptly to enquiries regarding cultural heritage and land issues relating to TfNSW projects.
Championing Aboriginal cultural heritage issues and achievements to relevant staff and contractors through the provision of cultural events, workshops, and training.
Ensuring that TfNSW Aboriginal cultural heritage policies and procedures are implemented in a proactive and consistent manner on infrastructure projects and promote and influence the implementation of the Governments Aboriginal Participation in Construction Guidelines by working with internal and external partners.
