Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Heritage Consultant (built heritage focus) to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. As a Senior Heritage Consultant at Three + One, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage through research, assessment, and conservation initiatives; you will own and grow client relationships, mentor and develop junior consultants, and work closely with clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure the preservation of our cultural legacy while helping to grow the practice through high-quality delivery and proactive business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review heritage deliverables (Heritage Impact Statements, Conservation Management Plans, Archival Recordings, Schedules of Conservation Works, Interpretation Strategies).
- Undertake site inspections, heritage assessments/surveys, significance analysis, and targeted historical research.
- Set and manage project approval pathways under NSW planning and heritage controls (EP&A Act, Heritage Act, relevant LEP/DCPs).
- Engage with clients and local authorities to provide pragmatic, expert heritage advice through feasibility, concept, DA/CC, and delivery.
- Own and grow client relationships; act as primary contact; meetings with councils/agencies and respond to RFIs.
- Keep up to date on relevant legislation and regulations related to heritage conservation in NSW.
- Uphold high standards of analysis, graphics, and report writing across all deliverables.
- Support and mentor junior staff members as needed.
- Represent Three + One Heritage in professional forums and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Heritage Conservation, History, Architecture, or a related field.
- 4+ years heritage consulting experience (built heritage focus).
- Strong knowledge of heritage legislation and regulations in NSW.
- Demonstrated excellence in report writing, strategic approvals advice, and client management.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
