We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join the team at our Stockland Merrylands Centre in Sydney. Although there is flexibility in which days are worked, both Saturday and Sunday will be required work-days every week.

**The Opportunity**

In this role you will ensure the Centre is well-kept by maintaining the services of the Centre on a daily basis whilst containing expenditure within the budget. Oversee proper and efficient operation of the Centre’s physical aspects, creating and sustaining a safe and productive environment for the occupants.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

- Assume responsibility for the everyday maintenance and presentation of the Centre.
- Assist with capital works including tenancy delivery works.
- Support processes and procedures related to the delivery of a safe, compliant, well-maintained and sustainable Centre.
- Build and maintain strong relationship with all the key stakeholder groups.
- Identify and manage improvements as a result of compliance assessments (e.g. Fire, Premise Standards, EEO, and OH&S Regs.).
- Manage improvement programs to optimise the Centre’s waste and energy, and water usage.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all occupants.
- Support team capability through sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Incident reporting
- Observe OH&S practices and ask questions of employees and contractors and document them, when visiting projects and properties.
- Identify and follow through with OH&S improvements (system improvements, elimination of hazards and environmental risks).
- Occasional gardening as required.

**About You**
- Trade experience and a trade qualification in a related field would be highly regarded
- Basic maintenance experience with no formal education will also be considered.
- Strong client service focus, with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Appreciation for OH&S and legislative compliance and practices
