Grounds Officer

We’re looking for a practical, self-motivated **Grounds Officer** to help keep our gardens and outdoor spaces looking great and functioning safely across UnitingSA sites. You’ll be part of our Grounds and Gardens team, maintaining lawns, plants, irrigation systems and common areas that are enjoyed every day by residents, staff and visitors.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being outdoors, and knows their way around a mower, blower, and basic tools. It’s not just about gardens - it’s about creating welcoming, safe spaces where people live and receive care.

**What the role involves**:

- Keeping grounds, lawns, gardens and irrigation systems in top condition
- Plant care, trimming, weed control and pest management
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and hazard-free outdoor environment
- Using gardening tools and machinery safely
- Following schedules and prioritising tasks across sites
- Providing friendly and respectful service to residents, visitors and staff

**What you’ll bring**:

- Experience in grounds or garden maintenance (including plant and lawn care)
- Confidence using garden machinery and basic maintenance tools
- A positive, can-do attitude and ability to work independently
- Strong awareness of safety and how to store and use chemicals properly
- Ability to follow procedures and get the job done well and on time
- A current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
- A current National Police Clearance (essential)
