**ABOUT THE BRANCH**

The Procurement Policy and Systems Branch is responsible for procurement policy development, providing advice to the Government on the procurement policy framework and developing supporting guidance for Commonwealth entities. The Branch also provides technical advice to support international free trade negotiations, supports the implementation of Australia's government procurement obligations, and provides advice on domestic policy implementation, with respect to our international obligations.

To simplify procurement for both suppliers and Commonwealth government entities, the branch develops and maintains Whole of Government contracting and grants systems, tools and templates, including AusTender, Dynamic Sourcing for Panels (DS4P), Contractor Reporting, Integrity Information Solution (CRIIS), GrantConnect and the Commonwealth Contracting Suite.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

We are seeking a high-performing and enthusiastic officer at either the APS 5 or APS 6 level, with an interest or previous experience in procurement or international trade to join the team

Reporting to your Assistant Director, as a Policy Officer/Senior Policy Officer you will be responsible for:

- Participating in international trade negotiations and other commitments in respect of Australia’s procurement policies. This may include:

- working closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to provide technical assistance
- fulfilling reporting obligations associated with agreements (as well as advising the States and Territories on the obligations)
- developing and participating in knowledge sharing, or cooperation activities with trade partners.
- Working proactively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including from other government agencies and industry.
- Developing high quality briefing materials for senior Finance officials, Ministers, parliamentary committees and the media.
- Contributing to the development of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, including contributing to the development of guidance and advice in response to queries from entities.

This role may include domestic and international travel.
