We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Officer to drive the development, implementation, and ongoing management of procurement frameworks, policies, and processes across the department.

This is a pivotal role with a strong focus on advancing thier Social Procurement Strategy, ensuring alignment with Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) requirements while promoting sustainable and socially responsible outcomes.

As the Senior Policy Officer you will:

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of procurement policies, frameworks and procedures
  • Oversee and deliver Social Procurement Strategy to achieve measurable social and sustainable procurement outcomes
  • Act as the department's key contact for the Local Jobs First (LJF) policy, the Industry Capability Network Victoria, and the LJF Management Centre system.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to the Chief Procurement Officer and Procurement Branch, fostering consistency and best practice across the organisation.
  • Contribute to procurement training, tools and resources that uplift capability across the department.

About you
We are looking for a Senior Policy Officer with:

  • Strong knowledge of Victorian Government Procurement requirements including the Victorian Government Purchasing Board Policies
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing procurement strategies, particularly in social and sustainable procurement.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to translate complex policy into clear, practical advice for diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive compliance.
