The role
The Service Coordinator, Accounts Payable, is responsible for ensuring high-quality and safe service delivery in line with Queensland Public Service values and defined service standards. This role involves managing and developing staff according to the approved Human Resource Management framework, including recruitment, training, performance management, and planning. The coordinator will oversee resource allocation and work schedules to support teams in meeting deadlines and achieving outcomes. In collaboration with Team Leads, the coordinator will ensure that accounts payable services across statewide units meet client expectations and comply with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and designated KPIs.
Additionally, the Service Coordinator will provide vital information and analysis to support the Manager in enhancing service delivery through continuous improvement initiatives. This includes coordinating priority invoice processing, addressing service delivery issues, and leading audits of accounts payable processes to maintain financial integrity. The role requires strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, effective communication with vendors, and the ability to identify and implement system improvements. By fostering a proactive and skilled accounts payable team, the Service Coordinator will contribute to achieving strategic goals and ensuring compliance with financial management policies.
The successful personThe essential requirements for this role are:
- Ability to travel to Accounts Payable units within the Brisbane region as required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function consistent with Queensland Health and other government agency directives.
- Demonstrated ability to provide professional strategic and high-level financial advice and performance analysis to management.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying improvements and implementing changes which enhance service delivery.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills (both oral and written), including demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate and influence staff at all levels and provide authoritative advice to management on a range of organisational issues, and the ability to prepare detailed reports.
- Proven high level of autonomy and flexibility in response to change and support the workforce to embrace new expectations through clarity of the intended outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
