**Surgical Booking Clerk**
- Permanent Part Time | 72 hours per fortnight | 9 days per fortnight

**About the role**

The position is responsible to the Surgical Unit and Liaison Nurse and requires the management of the patients waiting for planned surgery and coordination of the Surgical Unit’s availabilities. The position requires the clerk to work with the Liaison Nurse to ensure the best outcomes for patients waiting for planned surgery. This requires the clerk to take responsibility for the timely referral of patients to the wait list, the timely scheduling of elective surgery and ensure patients are prepared for their surgery

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Be proficient in obtaining and inputting medical data
- Comprehensive understanding of the healthcare environment and good knowledge of medical terminoloy
- Advanced computer and keyboard skills in EMR, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and TEAMs) and iPM Patient Administration System Management
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the _Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice)_. Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment._
