**Who are we?**

The NDIS Partners in the Community Program (PITC) supports the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to be implemented at a local level.

As a NDIA partner, Northcott will deliver the NDIS Early Childhood Approach (ECA) service to local communities in Northern NSW, Mid North Coast, Hunter New England, North Sydney and Western Sydney. The EC approach supports the activities that will improve independence and social participation of children aged 0-9 years with developmental delay and/or disability.

**What does this role look like daily?**

You will engage with stakeholders to facilitate community links and collaboration toward improving inclusive practices and opportunities for children with developmental delay or disability and their families.
- Successfully implementing the PITC Early Childhood Approach Community Capacity Building Plan by identifying & analysing strengths within the communities of the Sydney Metro.
- Seek to build the capacity of families and the community to work confidently and effectively with children with disability to meet each child's developmental needs.
- Carry out administrative duties as Northcott requires, including regular reporting against ECA performance measures, monthly reports, funding reports, and data collection to ensure contract compliance with the program.
- Demonstrate strong networking and community capacity-building skills across a diverse cohort of communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and LGBTQIA+.

**The skills and experience we are looking for include**:

- A strong understanding of Early Childhood development and the impact of developmental delay or disability on the child and their family.
- Knowledge of the Disability Services Act & Standards
- Knowledge of the Child Protection legislation and the principles of Keep Them Safe.
- Ability to professionally manage feedback and complaints from stakeholders that focuses on working toward a positive outcome.
- Highly developed communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.

**Other requirements include**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Early Childhood Education, or other relevant professional field.
- Minimum 3 years in a sector development role.
- Current Driver's Licence - P1 minimum
- Valid Working with Children’s Check Clearance - mandatory
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) or willingness to obtain - mandatory
- Working Rights in Australia for Full-Time Employment
- Successful pre-employment police check

The role will be based out of our North Sydney office and cover the local region, as it involves some travel to meet the children and their families/carers in their community and home environment.
