**Who we are**
The Border System and Planning Branch (in the Biosecurity Operations Division) drives the development, promotion and implementation of innovative and contemporary business strategies to improve our regulatory activities. The branch also integrates national arrangements across operational groups and supports the Biosecurity Operations Executive by:

- developing operating models to continue to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our operational and regulatory functions
- providing a conduit between the national programs and operational groups to facilitate operational integration
- establishing and maintaining operational performance monitoring and reporting, assurance and verification, operational continuity and incident response
- facilitating industry engagement and business system support
- undertaking internal transformation project/s related to workload and workforce analysis
- facilitating the management of change in the division
- undertaking the development and delivery of technical training within the division

The Governance and Planning Team (in the Border System and Planning branch) manages divisional governance and planning frameworks and provides advice and strategic support to the BOD Executive. The team also oversees BOD’s responsibilities through the departmental integrity framework and the management of Biosecurity Officer ID cards.

**The Job**
As an Assistant Director in the Governance and Planning Section your key duties will include:

- managing the divisions business continuity planning (BCP) to ensure high quality, responsive business continuity services for the division
- managing the divisions business continuity management arrangements including:

- ensuring the business continuity management framework is compliant with the PGPA Act, relevant standards and guidelines
- reviewing and updating business continuity framework documents
- maintaining robust business contingency plans and conducting business impact analysis in consultation with stakeholders
- undertaking BCP exercises including outcomes analysis
- providing support and coordination during a BCP event and managing post incident review activities following an event
- maintaining an awareness of business continuity issues affecting programs, divisions and regions
- managing productive relationships across the division through the business continuity working group
- representing the division at departmental meetings and other events (as required)
- managing the divisional integrity review and action plan
- managing the divisional fraud and corruption plan.

- have demonstrated experience with business continuity planning
- have an understanding of the biosecurity related operational aspects of the department.
