Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Specialist to join their Risk Management team. As a Risk Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company's risk management framework remains robust, proactive, and aligned with industry-leading practices. Your expertise and strategic thinking will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various investment portfolios.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to proactively identify, assess, and monitor risks associated with investment activities.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, traders, and senior executives to evaluate risk profiles, provide guidance on risk-related matters, and optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend effective risk mitigation measures.
- Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to assess their potential impact on the firm's risk profile and make informed recommendations.
- Establish and maintain robust risk reporting mechanisms to ensure timely and accurate risk information is provided to senior management.
- Design and deliver training programs that promote risk awareness and a risk-conscious culture across the organization.
- Contribute to the evaluation and due diligence of investment opportunities, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and managed.
- Regularly review and test risk controls to ensure their effectiveness, and make recommendations for enhancements as necessary.
- Continuously enhance the firm's risk framework by incorporating industry best practices and emerging risk management techniques.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications will be highly advantageous.
- years of demonstrated experience in risk management within the financial services industry, preferably within an investment firm or asset management company.
- Extensive knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and risk management frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial data and identify key risk factors.
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools, statistical software, and risk modeling techniques.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex risk concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
