**Risk Specialist **to support us to mature our risk and compliance management framework
**.**

**This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, Full time, Hybrid role working from home and from our East Melbourne office, closely located to Parliament Station.**

**The Role**:
In this new
**Risk Specialist** role at CoINVEST you will use your enhanced interpersonal skills and strong understanding of best practice in risk and compliance management to enhance our Risk and Compliance Frameworks. You'll develop and maintain processes, tools, and procedures to manage risk and ensure compliance, while also leading workshops to identify risks, obligations, and associated controls. You will collaborate with the business to pressure-test existing processes and controls and to develop risk and compliance treatment plans as required. Your insights will be crucial in updating risk registers, creating effective reports, and implementing a new GRC software solution. Your ongoing stakeholder engagement will drive a strong risk aware culture across the organisation.

**As a curious individual, capable of identifying opportunities, supporting improvements, and guiding our talented teams you will**:

- Support the risk and compliance culture and knowledge across the organisation.
- Advise and assist the Legal & Compliance team and greater organisation on best practice approaches to Risk and Compliance management.
- Identify, assess, update, and manage strategic and operational risks in the Risk Register including ongoing continuous improvements as required.
- Identify and document our compliance obligations and the processes and controls in place to manage against those obligations.
- Support the introduction of a modern Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) software solution.
- Prepare and maintain reports for Board and Committee meetings.
- Develop processes ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards. Monitor, audit, and address non-compliance.
- Train and educate employees and key stakeholders about risk and compliance.
- Improve risk and compliance procedures for efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve risk incidents or compliance breaches.

**Who are you?**

As a seasoned risk and compliance professional, preferably with tertiary qualifications across Risk Management, Law or similar, you will bring a proven track record in implementing robust risk and compliance management frameworks and successfully deploying modern GRC systems. Your ability to support assessments, profile risk, and align controls to appropriate risk appetites will be critical. As a critical thinker, problem solver and someone who excels in nurturing strong stakeholder relationships, your contribution to our ongoing support and vitality of CoINVEST and its members will be highly valued.
