The opportunity
This is an exciting chance for an experienced Senior Actuarial professional looking to grow their career with QBE Insurance in the role of Actuarial Manager with a key focus on providing actuarial valuation and portfolio support for Business package and/or Commercial Motor.
Your new role
- Conduct regular pricing reviews
- Key point of contact for business package and/or commercial motor pricing related matters
- Coaching / mentoring of junior analyst
- Support end to end quarterly adequacy reporting processes
- Support end to end annual budget setting process
- Drive strong engagement with the business through regular and proactive communication, assisting with business needs, contributing to key business decisions
- Be an active member of the QBE actuarial community
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and assist in implementing them
About you
To drive success in this role, you will demonstrate insurance actuarial experience, with knowledge of reserving. You will also possess:
- An ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate data from several sources and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment across a broad area of accountability
- Demonstrated skills in communicating concepts verbally and in writing in a simple, professional manner across a wide range of focus areas
- Newly or nearly qualified as a Fellow with the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent)
- Problem solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in commonly used pricing software packages, SAS, RADAR, Excel Rater
- Solid experience working in a General Insurance pricing capacity (or equivalent experience)
