**Position Overview**
As the Training Coordinator/WHS Specialist your focus will be on enhancing performance, safe work practices and ensuring compliance is met. The role is responsible for the development and engagement of a consistent and positive workplace health and safety culture across the organisation by developing our staff through sharing the knowledge and tools they need to perform their role in a safe manner and to minimise risk of injury.
An important component of the role is coordinating the workplace health and safety, workers compensation and rehabilitation activities to assist United for Care in meeting its ‘duty of care’ responsibilities.
Much of the training and support you deliver will be face to face but can also be remote using Microsoft Teams as necessary.
**Key Responsibilities**
**General**
- Work closely with Regional Managers and Practice Leaders to implement targeted onsite training and development activities to meet compliance standards.
- Coordination of training, including the efficient planning, implementation and evaluation of training activities
- Conduct ‘on-site’ training, including scheduling, liaising with managers, support workers and other relevant parties, arranging venues, equipment and other requirements as needed
- Ensure staff attend mandatory training, monitoring attendance and implementing appropriate actions to ensure attendance
- Align training with the National Disability Standards and maintain evidentiary records and documentation
- Ensure support workers have access to appropriate professional development based on identified needs of the service and individual staff;
- Liaise with external providers of training services and products as directed
- Provide regular reporting on training activities
**Workplace Health & Safety**
- Prepare and deliver WHS Training to include induction and manual handling
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operating procedures for high risk tasks
- Assist with incident/accident investigations
**Position Description**
- Maintain the United for Care register of injuries.
- Manage workers compensation and return to work to include conducting workplace assessments, wage reimbursements and liaising with rehabilitation providers and icare
- Maintain up to date register of chemicals and SDS
- Review of incident reports to identify root cause and provide solutions to prevent recurrence
Develop reporting methodology and regular reporting on WHS and workers compensation activities
Qualifications Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent
- Exceptional customer services ethos, with a focus on meeting deadlines, quality, and accuracy.
- Minimum of 2 years working in the disability, aged care or allied health services with ‘hand on’ training experience
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of competency-based training and assessment related to care.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS software, a knowledge of Employment Hero HR desirable.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
