**The Opportunity**

Our General Counsel’s Office is currently seeking a corporate transactional lawyer to join the team to play a key role in fulfilling our purpose: to create sustainable value with our clients, our people and our communities. This will be a permanent position.

You will work closely with Jon Downes (our General Counsel), Anne-Maree Hunt, Head of Legal, Commercial and other senior legal practitioners within the Firm's General Counsel’s Office to advise on and support the Firm's legal, consulting and commercial operations.

This role blends a top-tier law firm operating environment with the diversity of work and commercial perspective of an in-house role. Supporting internal stakeholders across our global network, you will enjoy a diverse range of work, including:

- Client engagement, tenders and contract negotiation
- Working with the Firm’s Legal Operations and Digital teams to explore the development of generative AI
- Publishing, licensing and intellectual property
- Corporate restructuring transactions
- Formulating and operationalising a range of regulatory, risk and policy initiatives
- Regulatory compliance and risk advice
- General corporate and commercial advice

The role offers an ambitious and adaptable corporate lawyer the opportunity to pivot their skills in a law firm environment into an influential business-facing role. There is flexibility for this role to be based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office.

**More About You**
- At least 4 years' experience
- Experience in corporate and commercial law (transactional / complex contractual negotiation capability will be highly regarded)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Commercial acumen
- Demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, stakeholders and fellow advisers, being a team player
- Exceptional communication skills
- Energy and enthusiasm
