A large, well-established family broad acre cropping enterprise located at Bongeen in southern Queensland has a permanent position available for a Farm Machinery Operator. The farm grows a variety of summer and winter cereals, and irrigated cotton depending on the season.

Starting straight away, you will routinely operate a range of large modern GPS guided farm machinery to carry out end-to-end cropping, grain handling and general farm duties in a team environment.

The farm pays an hourly rate and aims to work a standard set of hours during the work week but also pays an hourly loading for additional work during planting and harvesting, and for all weekend work.

The position is best suited to a reliable, easy-going worker with a minimum HC truck licence and road ranger experience who enjoys harmonious team-working and operating machinery in a tidy environment. But if you have an open HC licence with road ranger and tipping experience and would like to learn cropping skills, the farmer will teach you

In addition to your hourly rate the position comes with tidy accommodation and electricity. The school bus to primary and high schools runs past the gate and small pets are welcome. Or you can live in Toowoomba, Dalby, or Pittsworth, all 40 minutes or less to the farm.

DUTIES
- End-to-end cropping operating modern GPS machinery
- Tractor, Self-propelled spraying, header
- Some truck driving
- General farm maintenance

SKILLS & QUALITIES
- Similar cropping experience preferred
- Driver’ licence and own vehicle necessary
- Open HC and road ranger experience necessary
- Chemical accreditation preferred
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Effective communication and problem solving
- Follows instructions in teamworking environment
- Neat, tidy, and easy going
