About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer - Healthy Ageing, the General Manager - Clinical Leadership will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Healthy Ageing business of Mercy Health which comprises Residential Aged Care (RAC), Home Care (HC) and Seniors Living (SL) business portfolios.
In this role, you will lead a small team of clinical and education/training staff and will contribute to the leadership team to deliver on the strategic and operational requirements of the business. You will be acting as a clinical expert for any new services or acquisitions. You will develop or improve models of care to ensure high levels of clinical standards across the business division, supporting the delivery of safe, resident-focused clinical care. You will be also mentoring clinical managers and clinical care advisors and will support the development of workforce initiatives to enhance recruitment & retention efforts for clinical staff.
This is a fixed-term, 3 month position based at our Richmond office with travel to other Mercy sites required. Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH) are available.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Alignment with Mission, Vision and Values of Mercy Health- Consultative and collaborative leadership style and ability to motive individuals and teams- High level communication, interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills in gaining the confidence of all levels of seniority- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and work effectively in a team environment- Significant leadership experience in a complex health care institution, including a demonstrable track record of leading change.- Outstanding clinical leadership and management skills with a record of delivering results- Demonstrated ability to ensure effective training and education programs for clinical and care staff- Proven ability to implement policy and procedures that meet best practice guidelines, quality and safety standards and legislation- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and foster cooperation across a range of internal and external stakeholders- Demonstrated ability to contribute to clinical research and lead projects within an aged care setting.- Proven change management experience and ability to bring people along- Proven sound judgement skills in dealing with sensitive employee issues You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- Registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse Div 1- Relevant post graduate qualifications- Significant experience in senior management roles, overseeing large, complex clinical services- Demonstrated ability to and experience in leading and managing large change initiatives- Demonstrated experience in improving the education and training outcomes for staff- Experience working in a multi-site, not-for-profit aged care provider organisation is desirable.
