Job Description

General Services Supervisor – Full Time

Are you passionate about leadership, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional support services in healthcare? Epworth HealthCare is seeking a General Services Supervisor to join our Support Services Department at our Richmond location.

As Victoria's largest not-for-profit private healthcare group, Epworth is committed to delivering compassionate, expert care. This frontline leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of our support services, including hospitality, environmental services, and patient transport.

The General Services Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of staff, allocation of duties, rostering, performance development, quality activities, CARPs control, occupational health and safety, and overall departmental oversight. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality environmental services that support exceptional patient care and safety.

As a General Services Supervisor, you will:

  • Provide daily leadership and support to Environmental Services Department.
  • Ensure high-quality cleaning standards aligned with infection control protocols.
  • Be a role model in delivering exceptional patient care through environmental services.
  • Supervise resources effectively to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment.
  • Support the Hospitality Services Operations Manager in building a patient-focused team culture.
  • Lead and support team leaders and staff across multiple departments.
  • Ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with KPIs.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Hospitality Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Environmental Services team to deliver timely and safe services.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control across all areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Epworth's policies, procedures, and clinical governance framework.
  • Monitor service delivery and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, training, and performance development plans.
  • Promote a culture of compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.
  • Providing support with staff matters related to WorkCover
  • Providing support across various recruitment processes.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
  • Completion of Epworth Healthcare's Frontline Leadership Program.

Desirable to have :

  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic rostering and purchasing systems.
