The Department of Transport brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build and operate Victoria's transport system. Our job is to further integrate the transport network and improve the delivery of services to Victorians for simpler, quicker and safer journeys that connect people and places and support Victoria's prosperity and liveability. The Network Management Branch is responsible for the management of Victorian transport network. It undertakes the real-time management of the road network leveraging Intelligent Transport Systems (e.g. CCTV, SCATS, STREAMS, Addinsight) and notifications on asset serviceability. It is responsible for the patrolling of the road network and responding to incidents and supporting emergency services.

**About the Role**

Signal Network Optimisation (SNO) represents the most comprehensive review of traffic signals since signals were introduced to Melbourne almost 100 years ago. Replacing the former Route Review process, this new optimised procedure utilises improved technology. Help the team reviewing these signals plan and deliver their comprehensive schedule of work.

**The role involves**
- Successfully delivering the Signal Network Optimisation program (SNO) across metropolitan Melbourne.
- Detailed planning of the delivery schedule, including the implementation of Public Transport Priority deployment
- Leading engagement with internal and external stakeholders as the program moves to new geographical areas of Melbourne to inform the desired outcomes and prioritisation of reviews.
- Track issues with the schedule, assessing program and financial impacts and resolve complex conflicts/issues.
- Manage the changes to the schedule, confirming milestones, deliverables, dependencies and team/program impacts.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues in order to ensure timely resolution of program issues.
- Effectively engage, coordinate and facilitate interactions between different stakeholders across the Department, local government and public transport operators to inform the SNO Program utilising the right people for the right informaiton (optimising project outcomes)
- From time to time assist team with managing congestion mitigations for planned disruptions within a geographical area of Melbourne, including reviewing Traffic Impact Assessment reports and traffic modelling in determining the most appropriate mitigations

**Mandatory Qualifications and experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, transportation or related discipline or relevant traffic engineering experience.
- Experience in project planning, project or program management, risk management and scheduling.
- Transport experience desirable
- Victorian Driver's License
