**The Role**
Our Mining Wear Parts team is expanding and are seeking an enthusiastic Purchasing Officer to join our Mining Services Operation at our Perth branch in Henderson.
The Purchasing officer will provide effective management and quality service for our regular vendors, whilst assisting our internal operations to ensure our inventory and purchasing requirements are at high standards.
This position will report directly to our Branch Operations Manager, and you will be joining a great team culture with strong career pathway opportunities.
**Key deliverables**:
- Evaluate inventory needs, maintain appropriate levels of current stock
- Monitor effective operation of Capital and Coupa and other procurement processes and systems and supplier interfaces and take/identify necessary corrective actions.
- Regularly review and action the reorder reports to ensure punctual ordering.
- Control Inventory for stocking as required.
- Raise purchase orders in line with the procedures.
- Manage interfaces between Procurement and the MRL/MWP Finance Department.
- Investigate /close Goods Received Not Invoiced reports.
- Develop and maintain Purchasing processes and policies.
- Maintain relationships with approved suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure all data collected from Suppliers and Customer is accurately recorded in Capital for future use and reference.
- Ensure any supplier selection decisions made by the Purchasing team conform to policy.
- Maintain Vehicle fleet management.
- Managing the transactional purchasing function in Procurement.
- Onboarding of new vendors where required through liaison between vendors and MRL
- Maintain & update Capital in line with MWP parts processes.
- Vendor /Client deliveries & pickups where required.
- Assist in warehouse where required.
- Initiate and process vendor claims for non-conforming orders and parts
***What you’ll bring to the team**:
- A minimum of 5 years experience within in the mining and resources sector with knowledge across mining related products and services is essential.
- Experience with Fabrication, specialising in fixtures and fittings is highly desirable.
- A strong working knowledge of Capital and Coupa is desirable.
- Current car drivers license.
- High risk work license - Forklift.
- An ability to think critically, using logic and reasoning to identify, strengths, weaknesses or alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Able to exercise judgement and decision-making principles considering relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate course of action.
- Excellent organisational skills. Must be able to prioritise their workload and effectively manage their time.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are necessary.
- A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
