Principal Asset Advisor

The roleThe Principal Asset Advisor will support effective policy, processes, guidelines, tools and other initiatives relating to state-wide health asset management services. You will lead communication and engagement with Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), the Department of Health (the Department), other government agencies and industry to ensure Queensland's public health infrastructure is aligned with contemporary health service needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and a proven track record of effective asset management in a large and complex organisation with an extensive and varied building asset portfolio including strategic asset management planning.
- Demonstrated understanding of building infrastructure asset management/maintenance concepts and knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and policy.
- Demonstrated extensive experience as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan and implement asset management initiatives and achieve project objectives by effectively managing multiple tasks, setting priorities and achieve results within tight deadlines in an environment of change and evolution.
- High level of analytical, research and management skills to deal with multiple stakeholders, complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills in communication, consultation, negotiation and establishment of internal and external networks.
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in project management and implementation of projects including the ability to scope projects, engage and direct consultants/contractors within time including budget and resource constraints and in line with Queensland Health approved project methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of client and customer focus to deliver and achieve quality customer focused service outcomes.
- Support the Director and managers to facilitate a culture of change management within the Branch and Asset Management Unit.
Whilst not mandatory, relevant qualifications in any of the following would be well regarded:
- Asset Management
- Facilities Management
- Building Construction
- Engineering or technical.

The Asset Management Unit (AMU) is part of the Governance, Assurance and Information Management Branch and provides support and advice to the HHSs/Department. The AMU team works collaboratively to assist in the effective management of HHSs and the Departmet's buildings and supporting infrastructure (including ICT) over the asset life cycle, to mitigate against infrastructure risks that may impact on health service delivery.
