**The Role**
The Migrant Skills Assessment Branch has responsibility for an in-house assessing authority, Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), and the Assessing Authority Policy and Assurance team (AAPA), which oversees the skills assessing authority sector, strategic policy, quality assurance, and research.
Program Officers/Service Delivery Officers:
Program Officers and Service Delivery Officers are responsible for managing caseloads, undertaking assessments, and verifying documentation provided by applicants. These roles are available across several of our programs.
Policy Officers:
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 5 Program Officers and Service Delivery Officers include:
- planning and organising work to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities and delivering work to a high standard.
- developing and maintaining effective internal working relationships (within and across teams) and external relationships to assist clients to achieve the correct outcome.
- contributing to the wider management of the skills assessment programs including managing risk, identifying trends and improving outcomes.
As an APS Level 5 Policy Officer you will be required to:
- undertake analysis and prepare research, data and policy advice in relation to skills assessments and skilled migration
- use evidence from research, data analysis and evaluation activities to inform policy, project delivery and sector regulation around skills assessments, including making recommendations about potential improvements within the context of the Government’s broader agenda for skilled migration,
- help deliver strategic projects commissioned to guide the delivery of best practice skills assessments to effectively support skilled migration.
