**Grade**: SNSW Grade 11/12 - (Base full-time salary range of $157,569 - $189,561, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

**Location**: Sydney / Gosford - Hybrid and flexible working options available
This role sits within the SNSW Business Bureau Division in the Small Business Policy team.
**About the team**
The Small Business Policy Team is a great place to shape and drive some of the NSW Government’s key commitments for small business. The team sits within the new Service NSW Business Bureau, which is the central point for policy and programs that support NSW’s small businesses.
We are looking for a Principal Policy Officer who can lead complex projects, provide high quality advice, deliver strategic outcomes and inspire their teams. The role will support the implementation of reforms to the Retail Leases Act, and the delivery of the NSW Charter for Small Business.
**Your day-to-day**
- Lead and work on priority projects, including implementing election commitments in the Small Business portfolio
- Support the coordination of timely and high quality advice to the executive and Minsters’ offices
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Manage rapidly changing priorities and conflicting perspectives
- Develop and implement practical solutions to complex matters
- Support and inspire your team
- Be accountable for projects with mínimal supervision
**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate**:
- The ability to deliver results and take initiative and have a can-do attitude
- Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills
- The ability to be able to build and maintain positive and productive relationships, and influence stakeholders across the NSW Government
- Have a good understanding of how government works and how to get things done using government processes, including Cabinet and Parliamentary processes
- Experience working in a fast paced and complex environment
- Expert written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in leading and developing teams
- Ability to work autonomously
- Good awareness of economic and policy matters, and program responses for small business, or the ability to develop this awareness quickly
