**About the role**

The Early Years Support Service Program Officer is responsible for delivering the Early Years Support Service in Inner West or Canterbury Bankstown LGA and facilitating the home visiting of volunteers including the delivery of professional training and supervision.

This role is a Part-time Permanent role for 3 to 4 days per week. There are two roles available, one for each location, Penshurst Park and Summer Hill.
- Deliver the Early Years Support Service, ensuring the highest level of client focused model of care in administration and program delivery
- Ensure the program embraces best practice in delivery
- Ensure service delivery is guided by evidence informed practice, and that stakeholder feedback is incorporated into ongoing service delivery
- Oversee client intake procedures including program registration, assessment and allocation to volunteers within agreed time frames
- Carry out risk assessments on initial home visits to client homes to ensure safe WHS environment
- Provide professional supervision, leadership and direction to the volunteer home visiting team
- Coordinate the volunteer orientation process for new volunteers.
- Foster high level of volunteer support, morale and motivation across home visiting team.
- Monitor continued suitability of volunteers to participate as home visiting volunteers
- Provide oversight into the volunteer’s service delivery, correcting as required
- Establish and maintain effective and productive relationship with Department Social Services and referrers across the community and health sector
- Work closely with clients, referring agencies to ensure a professional service

**About You**
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in social work / community services, health, management, human services or related discipline
- Experience in the delivery of an early intervention program for new parents
- Experience leading or coordinating volunteers or employees
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with experience with developing and maintaining strong partnerships.
- Capacity to support and grow services through development of partnerships with networks, providers and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of enablement and consumer directed care and the ability to develop a volunteer team around this philosophy and approach.
- High-level conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills applicable to management
- Strong understanding of, and respect for, cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD)
