Job Expectations
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the HR Generalist, reporting to the Executive Manager, People and Culture, where you will join the Leader Support Team, a key pillar within the Workforce Strategy, Partnering & Change business unit.
A bit about your role
You will partner with leaders across nbn to support and coach them in their people matters, helping them get the best from their people and achieve their organisational objectives.
As the HR Generalist (internally referred to as Leader Support), you will work closely with the leaders in your assigned Business Units (BU), up to Executive General Manager (c-suite). This includes partnering with leaders to coach and guide them through all their people matters including performance management, role changes, addressing conduct and behavioural concerns, health and wellbeing.
There will also be a proactive element to your role, where you will reach out to leaders with specific campaigns and other nbn HR cyclical activities. These campaigns may arise from leader feedback or data analysis to identify a leadership capability gap or need. You will work with Lead People and Culture Partners and COEs to provide insights, analyse data and trends at a BU level, contributing to the development of people plans to support BU objectives.
A bit about you
A self-starter passionate about partnering with people and consulting, you will bring extensive HR generalist and advisory experience within a fast-paced business. You have a proven track record in leadership coaching and advice, supporting leaders to resolve people issues, together with current expertise in Australian employment relations/industrial relations.
This role is suited to someone who is looking to grow their HR generalist career by broadening the number of leaders they work with and joining a large organisation. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, focused on continuous improvement and building the capability of leaders with every interaction.
You are a strong communicator, have experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and can prioritise your work to ensure that you provide the right advice, at the right time with risk managed appropriately.
Life at nbn
At nbn our people have a clear and shared purpose - empowering Australians to redefine the way they live, work and play into the future. As one of the Australia’s largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in Australian history, you’ll be part of a team building a brighter future for the country.
In your personal career, you’ll benefit from technical training for professional development, leadership programs and access to the latest technology, as well as being led by a diverse executive team.
We actively focus on our people having a fair go at reaching their career aspirations. We’re committed to equal opportunities for all employees. With initiatives like Women’s Leadership Programs, a commitment to equal pay, flexibility and market leading parental leave, we truly are paving the way for true equality in the workplace.
