**Position Information**:
Berkeley Vale Campus is a coeducational 7-10 campus serving the communities of Killarney Vale, Berkeley Vale and Chittaway Bay on the southern side of Tuggerah Lake. The campus is part of Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College (TLSC) and is a proud member of the Tuggerah Lakes Learning Community (TLLC). The student population is 853 students, with 132 identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Close connections with the Kuriwa AECG are fostered within the school and school community.

Quality teaching and learning practices are embedded in our school to support the growth and achievement of all students through strategic professional learning, teacher collaboration and a thriving coaching model, which drives explicit teaching. Our focused approach to building capacity in Classroom Management, Explicit Teaching, Differentiation and Formative Assessment support student growth and attainment. Explicit teaching and behaviour expectations provide clear connections between the work we do as a Positive Behaviour for Learning school and the value of clearly defined learning expectations that are regularly reflected upon through formative assessments. The campus’ differentiation approaches focus on both supporting students with additional needs and on extending learners within all classrooms.

1. Proven ability to be a highly visible, innovative leader who drives a culture of high expectations, through a model of Instructional Leadership and collaborative practice, resulting in improved student outcomes.

2. Proven ability to lead an inclusive school culture which embeds evidence-based practices to meet the wellbeing needs of all students, including those with complex behaviours.

3. Demonstrated experience developing authentic relationships to further strengthen genuine partnerships with the Aboriginal community, resulting in student success.

4. Demonstrated capacity to authentically engage parents, staff and the wider community to enhance productive partnerships.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
