**SMS Mining Services is a privately owned, West Australian based Mining Contractor. Founded in 2000, SMS has progressed from being solely Equipment Rental to now having extensive involvement in the Maintenance, Contract Mining and Drill and Blast Divisions.**

We have an opportunity available for an enthusiastic Purchasing Officer to join our Welshpool team on a full-time permanent basis.

**Job Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Process purchase requisitions in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Support our site teams and internal stakeholders with order queries
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding orders
- Prioritise approved purchase orders and complete all priority purchase orders on a daily basis - ensuring timely and accurate processing at all times
- Maintaining a strong and healthy supplier and contractor relationships
- Negotiate with suppliers for best price and products

**Skills and Experience**
- Previous experience in a similar role
- High attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Efficient and accurate data entry skills
- Strong verbal, written and numerical skills
- Team player
