About The Role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced
Electronics Technician (Enthusiast)
to step into a
purchasing and procurement
role. You'll be responsible for sourcing and managing the supply of electronic components and materials critical to our production line.

Duties include component procurement, kitting, production testing, repairs and assisting our engineering department with new designs. Formal qualifications are not required, however, a sound understanding of modern electronic components, be competent in reading and converting component values and advising on substitutions etc. We would strongly encourage electronic enthusiasts with a strong desire to expand their base knowledge in this exciting field to apply. Good telephone manners and strong people skills are also essential. Procurement activities include overseas suppliers, a thorough understanding of import clearance, duties and taxes is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure electronic components, tools, and consumables.
  • Interpret technical drawings and BOMs to ensure accurate ordering.
  • Preparing kits of parts ready for assembly.
  • Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to maintain stock availability.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with internal processes.

Skills & Experience

  • Enthusiast, Trade qualification or diploma in Electronics or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a purchasing/procurement role within electronics or manufacturing including overseas imports preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
