About Our Client and Role
Our client, a Local Council in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, requires an experienced City Works Maintenance Officer whom will maintain and enhance council’s infrastructures and assets.
Skills and Responsibilities include:
Perform all infrastructure maintenance tasks and repairs in accordance with works programs and management systems. Works will include signage, Parks Infrastructure, asphalt, pit, concrete and minor civil repairs across roads and drainage areas.
Undertake infrastructure and signage audits and risk assessments and implement solutions resulting from these to ensure public safety is maintained in reserves, public spaces and roadsides.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, plant and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings
- Demonstrated extensive experience in carpentry and joinery repairs
- Ability to carry out audits of Council facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in computer skills and a variety of programs used.
- Strong customer service skills
- A strong understanding of safe work practices
- Experience in a customer service industry.
- Over Five years in civil works and related industry
- Be vaccinated in line with the governments guidelines
- **Heavy Truck Licence**
- **Forklift and Front end loader licence**
A Police Check and Working with Children's check are required for this role upon successful placement
