**Position Information**:
The Grange Public School sits on the lands of the Dharawal People in South West Sydney. The school has an enrolment of 284 students, with 11 mainstream classes, 2 support unit classes (AU/IO) and a third support unit class (AU) opening in 2025.
Students come from a diverse cultural community, 56% of students identify as EAL/D and 9% as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school has a strong culture of collaboration in the planning, teaching and assessing of Literacy and Numeracy, including differentiating instruction to support the needs of all students. **Selection Criteria**:
1.In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special education and/or experience to improve learning outcomes for students K-6 autism, intellectual disabilities and complex and diverse needs.

2.Demonstrated ability to balance the dual role of an exemplary classroom teacher and the leadership responsibilities of an Assistant Principal in Special Education.

3.Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that maximise student engagement, focusing on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for all students.

4.Leadership and experience dealing with complex challenging behaviours and demonstrated ability to support and lead staff to plan and effectively manage these behaviours.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
