This role features a hybrid work arrangement, with four days in the office to promote collaboration, build strong connections, and enhance team engagement. The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager is responsible for developing and executing WHS strategies to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and a strong safety culture across VetPartners. Reporting to the HR Director and accountable to the Governance Committee, this role oversees the WHS Management System, workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, and insurance policies. The WHS Manager also monitors WHS-related financials, provides board reporting, and collaborates with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead WHS Strategy & Compliance - Develop and implement workplace safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee Workers' Compensation & Return-to-Work Programs - Manage complex claims and rehabilitation processes, ensuring effective and timely support for employees.
- Drive Risk & Hazard Management - Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks through proactive strategies.
- Manage WorkCover Insurance Policies & Claims Progression
- Review policies, liaise with insurers, and ensure claims are effectively handled to minimise costs.
- Deliver Financial Oversight & Board Reporting - Monitor WHS-related costs, track KPIs, and present insights to executive leadership and the board.

**Skills, Attributes, and Experience**:

- Proven experience in WHS management, workplace safety, and compliance for Australia and New Zealand.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management frameworks, and injury prevention.
- Experience in workers’ compensation & insurance claims management.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive a culture of safety.
- Qualifications in WHS (Certificate IV or higher), with return-to-work certification desirable
