Right now, we have an opportunity for a Workplace Design Manager to join us in the Workplaces Branch of Transport for NSW. This is a Permanent full-time opportunity. Though the base location for the role is Macquarie Park, we offer flexible working arrangements.

The branch is made up of five work streams including Strategy, Real Estate, Delivery, Development and Experience.

In this role you will sit under the wider Delivery stream and be responsible for workplace design solutions across the TfNSW portfolio.

You will work within the design team on various workplace projects ranging from major to minor works at our metro and regional office locations, as well as be involved in more specialised design solutions for operational sites such as depots and labs.

**What you will be involved in**
- Manage workplace interior design and implementation to ensure a cost effective occupancy fit-out, working closely with the work, health and safety teams to ensure new workplace designs and major purchases have more focus on the ergonomic requirements of a changing workplace and worker requirements.
- Management of external designers and other professional service consultants directly or via Property NSW, including interior designers / graphic designers and other specialist consultants as required, ensuring quality of delivery and meeting budgetary requirements.
- Source and select supplier options, managing the procurement and tender process, implementing workplace and furniture standards and seek opportunities to enhance technological connectivity and enable innovation across the workplace.
- Provide design solutions and advice for minor work requests, assist with placement plans and coordination of deliveries for furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) for large and small projects.
- Manage competitive tendering/ request for quotation (RFQ) for consultants and furniture suppliers. Liaise with procurement throughout the consultant/ supplier process to ensure compliance with procurement processes and statutory requirements.
- Prepare project and/or FF&E budgets to feed into overall project budget with consideration to cost effective solutions.
- Benchmark organisational practices against market research of technological advances and changes in work practices.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who has a passion for workplace design and improving the workplace experience for our people. You can work collaboratively across internal and external teams and have a pragmatic and positive approach.

You will have tertiary qualifications in Interior Design or Architecture and recent relevant experience in commercial workplace fit-out design (including a thorough knowledge of hybrid ways of working).

You will have exceptional communication skills with an ability to understand what the end user needs and help transform this into design solutions that lead to positive workplace experiences. You will be skilled at presenting to all levels of the organisation including executives and to large groups.
