Council Approvals Coordinator

The Approvals Coordinator works closely with external stakeholders, reports to the Operations Manager and is part of the South Coast Administration team. The key focus of this role is to prepare documentation and liaise with the relevant Councils, private certifiers and external organisations to arrange the prompt lodgement of plans and necessary building approvals. More specifically, you will:
- Prepare and lodge for developer approval within a timely manner
- Liaise with Project Coordinators and Drafters to ensure changes required for approval and documented for our clients and internal stakeholders
- Prepare reports for management and provide weekly progress updates on each Development Application
- Ensure lodgement time from contract signing to permit applies as per the needs of the business
- Complete general administrative tasks associated with the position
You will share a passion for our purpose to be Australia’s number one residential builder and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans whilst identifying planning compliances and non-compliances
- Strong knowledge and understanding of planning laws and legislations as well as processes
- Outstanding negotiation and communications skills
- Experience in liaising with consultants and contractors to arrange technical reports and support documentation
- Previous experience liaising with local councils and private certifiers is highly regarded
