Assistant Business Manager

**About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide assistance to the Business Manager by undertaking a range of financial functions including those activities associated with the financial management arising from statutory requirements, financial analysis, budget reporting, accrual accounting processes and general ledger activities. The role is to be performed in a manner that promotes the provision of quality and timely financial information and advice to the Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
About you
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined below.
Assist in monitoring and advising on variations in expenditure, revenue and activity, which affect budgetary performance and activity targets, assist in finalisation of monthly service line and cost centre reporting and provide strategic advice on remedial action as appropriate.
Provide a high level of financial and business advisory support including analysis of budget trends and investigation of variances. Present in a written and oral form quality financial, staffing and patient activity data compared to budgets, targets, benchmarks and key performance indicators.
Participate in the decision-making process through the attendance at the:
Professional Services Service Line Performance Meetings & Senior Executive Group Meetings.
RBWH Business Manager Meetings, as required
Other resource management teams and forums as appropriate.
Support strategic and operational planning activities.
