**Your new role**
The primary purpose of the Senior Manager, Safety Assurance role is to ensure Safety Management systems assurance processes are followed across NSWTL. The role is responsible for the development and implementation of the safety assurance elements and deliverables of the Safety Management System (SMS), including but not limited to safety risk management, and performance monitoring and reporting and continuous improvement to ensure the effectiveness of the SMS. The Senior Manager, Safety Assurance operates with significant autonomy in the management and delivery of safety assurance processes to ensure the overall functional, technical and safety performance requirements of NSWTL’s system are achieved.

**What you'll need to succeed**
It is essential that you have an Engineering and Rail background, Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice in a multidisciplinary engineering environment affecting major services and assets and understanding of safety related legislations (Rail Safety National Law, WHS Act). Application of relevant regulations in a changing environment and providing advice on at a senior stakeholder level.
