Costume Administrative Coordinator 12-month Contract

**Position Summary**
The Costume Administrative Coordinator works as part of the Costume Workshop and is responsible for providing efficient and effective administration support to the Department. Scheduling costume fittings for each production with Dancers is a core responsibility of this role.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist the Head of Costume Workshop with department administration, including but not limited to, managing calendar, screening and handling telephone communications, drafting correspondence, responding to requests
- Assists with project development and planning to ensure more efficient service and Organisation of the Costume Workshop
- Scheduling costume fittings for each production with Dancers in consultation with costume coordinators and cutters
- Overseeing extra-curricular costuming requests. This would include but is not limited to requests from, The Australian Ballet School, Marketing and publicity departments, Philanthropy, The Ballet Society and external relations department
- Costume department occupational health and safety representative.
- Facilitate Department Inductions with new team members
- Working with the collections management team to enter and manage information into The Australian Ballet Collection Management system
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Costume Workshop.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Previous experience in an administrative role or similar
- Strong Microsoft skills, work, outlook, excel
- Experience in a theatrical wardrobe environment would be advantageous
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- A strong interest in costume making and design is desirable
- Appreciation of the artistic temperament
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
