**Your new company**

Hays is currently partnered with a Geelong based plant nursery to recruit a Finance Business Partner in a temporary capacity. This company is a world-class wholesale supplier of vegetable seedlings to the fresh produce industry and potted green life products to the nursery and garden industry.

**Your new role**

This role will provide service and support to the business in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting systems, preparation of management and financial reports including daily and monthly investment administration and calculation of investment returns and supporting the Head of Finance & IT and other Team Members as required

Responsibilities will include:

- Provide service and support with accounting functions as required.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting systems.
- Prepare reports and analyse KPIs including distribution to the relevant department manager.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
- Prepare statutory reports and returns BAS and ASIC related in liaison with the Head of Finance & IT.
- Assist with consolidated financial statements and annual budgets for the business.
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed within specific timeframes including Creditors & Payroll.
- Input into the journal, ledger update and error correction.
- Assist with the timely preparation and submission of reports to management:

- Income and expenditure reporting to budget
- Variance analysis on actual v. budget
- Accounts receivable reporting support
- Bank accounts and reconciliations.
- Maintain ongoing processes for expenditure review and FBT record keeping.
- Provide service and support to Sales & Production with forecasting sales analysis, cost reduction and labour initiatives.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- Demonstrated experience in the superannuation industry or related financial services environment
- Thorough understanding of cash receipting, debtor and creditor transactions
- Working knowledge of GST principles
- Ability to process general ledger accounting entries through to final trial balance
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload
- Highly computer literate
- Working knowledge of commercial accounting principles and Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong interpersonal skills with the drive and capacity to communicate positively across all levels of business
- Sound negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
- Sound administrative, data entry, reporting writing and organisation abilities
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
