**Who we are**
The Veterinary and Export Meat Branch (VEMB) undertakes regulatory functions by providing inspection and certification for the export of meat, meat products and the import and export of live animals and reproductive material in order to meet importing country requirements and Australian legislative requirements.

The Workforce Strategy and Regulatory Culture Section is responsible for developing workforce strategies that support good regulatory culture and practice, and aligning the branch’s planning and workforce management to departmental and APS strategies.

**The Job**
As a Learning Partner you will:

- partner with VEMB and divisional business units to understand their operations and key business drivers, and meet strategic needs across all aspects of capability and development
- utilise your experience in contemporary learning and development and stakeholder engagement to become a trusted partner across the Exports and Veterinary Services Division (EVSD)
- develop strategies and learning frameworks for VEMB and the division in collaboration with senior leaders, SME’s and the training delivery team whilst ensuring consistency with the department’s L&D strategy
- conduct learning needs analysis in consultation with business stakeholders
- lead, manage and coach the training delivery team to strengthen existing capability and support innovation and continuous learning
- provide expert advice on the design, implementation and evaluation of L&D strategies, programs, projects, policies and services
- optimise and improve the delivery of L&D services through innovation, systems, process improvement and technology
- provide leadership direction and support across the branch and communicate VEMB and EVSD strategic direction and priorities to staff and stakeholders
- actively participate in the VEMB and EVSD leadership groups and share responsibility and accountability for delivering priorities and outcomes
- proactively and effectively manage change to embed change outcomes and realise expected change benefits.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Highly developed knowledge of adult learning principles, frameworks and contemporary learning and development practice and theory.
- Experience working at both a leadership and a strategic level of contemporary learning and development/organisational development in medium to large organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in training design, development, delivery and evaluation in medium to large organisations.
- Experience in collaborating and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading and managing teams including guiding, mentoring and developing people.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
The successful applicant must hold and maintain a valid Australian motor vehicle drivers licence.
