**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a School Engagement Coordinator to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.
The School Engagement Coordinator is responsible for a program of school outreach activities to position QUT as a university of choice for prospective students, parents, career advisers and the community. The role oversees all aspects of school engagement including school visits, campus tours, regional career markets, START QUT and the student ambassador program.

The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for:
- building and protecting QUT’s brand and reputation
- engaging and recruiting future students
- ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.
The School Engagement Coordinator is part of the Domestic Student Recruitment unit which delivers a range of marketing and engagement activities to support the university’s student recruitment goals, including print and digital communication, event management and outreach to schools.
**What you need to succeed**
Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.
You will demonstrate:
- Education, training and experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in marketing, communication or public relations or a related discipline with at least four years of experience in student recruitment and marketing or a similar field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to deliver engaging presentations to a wide variety of audiences, one-on-one advice and to develop written content that engages target audiences.
- A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and delivery of student recruitment events, training and programs.
- Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and provide a professional service within a busy customer oriented environment.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising a team to achieve organisational goals.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, with a demonstrated ability to implement such principles at an operational level.
Essential requirements
- Current ‘C’ class (car) driver’s license, the physical ability to carry boxes of approximately 10kg weight, the availability to attend out of hours activities, and an ability to spend periods away from Brisbane.
